Peer to Peer Support: Grief Groups

Kids and Family Group

In person kids and family group nights are on HOLD Due to COVID... check back for updates, follow us on Facebook or sign up for our Newsletter to be notified of in-person groups starting back up.

Currently we are putting our monthly family handouts, and activities on our Facebook page, and the Resources Page of our website. All activities and projects can be made with household materials, and are designed to open a conversation around grief, memories, continuing bonds, emotions, coping skills and self regulation. We look at speaking to all age levels in our videos and on our blog. There is something for everyone, younger kids, middle school, high school and adults.

Over the years we have found that sometimes you don’t even need an activity to get the conversation flowing. By spending some quality time with each other, bring up your favorite memory of the person who died. Or if you are listening to music, talk about a song that reminds you of the person who died. Grief healing can be intertwined into our daily lives.

We absolutely love our in-person peer to peer support groups for kids and families. Something magical always comes out of our group nights. So many connections, little nuggets of ideas that may help a person, and sometimes… healing. When we are safe to return to large in person groups with our kids and families, the location will be in Brown County. More information will be shared at a later date.

If you are looking for an in-person grief group for kids and families, visit our Resources Page. We do know of some local in person groups and virtual group nights going on every month that are great!

Next Family Video will be published on our Facebook Page

Adult Group

Currently we are following CDC guidelines and still offering a small adult group in Seymour, WI once a month. Face coverings are required and all seating will be farther than 6 feet apart. This group is free and open to the public, as long as you do not have any COVID-19 symptoms, and have not been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive within the 14 day window. Our group nights are confidential, in a laid back atmosphere. You can choose if you would like to speak and participate in conversation or just listen.

Each adult will receive a new booklet we publish each month, written by others who have lived the death(s) of a loved one. Also included is a 10 Day Reflection Guide you can read at your own leisure by yourself or with others. Our goal with this group is to bring adults together in hopes of some connections, healing, and ideas for new grief resources.

Come and enjoy some great conversation with some wonderful people. Our groups are held at:

JSA Coffee Shop, 406 N Main Street, Seymour, WI 54165

February 22nd from 6-7:30PM
